Minda Files removes the password from a PDF in your browser: drop the PDF, type its password and press Unlock PDF to download a copy that opens with no password. How to remove a password from a PDF
- Drop the locked PDF on the page, or press Choose a file.
- Type its password; leave it empty if the PDF opens without one.
- Press Unlock PDF, then download the unlocked copy.
- Needs the password Unlock PDF does not guess or break passwords: it opens the PDF with the one you type.
- Restrictions a PDF locked only against printing, copying or changes unlocks with no password, and the copy has no restrictions.
- Opens PDFs locked with RC4 or AES, up to AES-256.

How do I remove a password from a PDF?
Open Unlock PDF in Minda Files, drop the PDF, type its password and press Unlock PDF: you download a copy that opens without a password.
Can Minda Files unlock a PDF without the password?
Not one that asks for a password to open: that would mean breaking the lock, which Minda Files does not do. A PDF that opens but blocks printing, copying or changes unlocks with no password.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The PDF and its password stay in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and the password is not kept.
Is Minda Files free?

Are my files uploaded?
No. The tools and the editor run online in your browser; your file is not sent to a server. Only Ask AI sends what you ask, and the text of the file it needs, to Minda AI; PDF to PowerPoint sends a picture page or a picture only when you turn on Read picture pages, and Translate PDF the words it translates.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Minda Files works in your web browser: open the page, drop a file and it opens there.
