Edit a Photoshop file
Open a PSD with its layers, change them and write on it, with no Photoshop.
Drop a file here, or choose one: it opens on this page.
Minda Files opens Photoshop PSD files in your browser with their layers: show, hide, rename, reorder, move and scale them, set their opacity, blend mode and adjustments, change a text layer’s words and write or draw on top. Then download a PSD that keeps the layers, or a PNG, JPG or PDF. Nothing is uploaded, and it is free.
How to edit a PSD file online
- Drop the .psd or .psb file on the page, or press Choose a file.
- Pick a layer in Layers to show or hide it, rename or move it, or set its opacity, blend mode and adjustments.
- Write, draw, add shapes or a picture on top with the mark-up tools.
- Download it as a Photoshop file with its layers, or as a PNG, JPEG or PDF.
- Opens with its layers a .psd in 8-bit RGB or grayscale with at least one layer, up to 100 MB within your plan’s file size: show, hide, rename, reorder, copy and delete layers, set opacity and blend mode, retype a text layer, add a picture as a new layer, move and scale a layer, and set brightness, contrast, saturation, hue or black and white as adjustment layers.
- Opens as one picture a .psb, a CMYK, indexed, duotone or 16-bit file, or a larger one, up to 40 megapixels: its flattened picture, to crop, turn, resize, mark up and download.
- Downloads a .psd with the layers as Layers shows them, the adjustments as adjustment layers Photoshop keeps live and your marks as a layer named Minda marks on top; or a PNG, JPEG or PDF of the picture.
- Does not open a Lab, Multichannel or 32-bit file, or one saved without Maximize Compatibility, which holds no flattened picture: the message says how to save one that opens.
Questions
Can I open a Photoshop file without Photoshop?
Yes. Drop the PSD or PSB file on Edit Photoshop file in Minda Files: it opens in your browser, and a layered PSD shows its layers to change.
Does the downloaded PSD keep the layers?
Yes. Download as Photoshop file writes every layer as Layers shows it, with your marks as a layer named Minda marks on top. After a crop, turn or resize, the picture is written as one layer, with your marks on top.
Why does my PSD open without its layers?
Layers open for a .psd in 8-bit RGB or grayscale color. A .psb, a CMYK or 16-bit file opens as its flattened picture, which you can still mark up and download.

Yes. Every tool and the editor are free, with no account needed. Signed out, files open up to 10 MB; signed in on the free plan, up to 50 MB; the Files plan and Pro open files up to 256 MB.

Do I need to install anything?
No. Minda Files works in your web browser: open the page, drop a file and it opens there.
